Brrrrrr! Guess who’s working outside On-Site in this FREEEEZING -2° Chicago weather?… our Mobile Mechanic / Service Technician is! And it’s cold!
He’s in Bensenville, IL. on a last-minute call Assessing a ‘No Start’ issue in a repeat client’s 2007 Jeep Liberty. With temperatures reaching -3° and a “real feel” windchill of -25°, and almost two and half feet of snow on the ground- chances are this client’s battery cells are frozen. If this IS the case, a good, solid jump start may get it started; but the replacement of a new battery is highly recommended. In fact, in some cases a battery’s cells may be TOO frozen to start the vehicle at all and a replacement of a new battery should allow it to start.

These brutal winter conditions have kept both our Division 1 and 2’s Specialists quite busy over the last few weeks; and especially this last week with snowfall in double digits across the Chicago & entire Midwest region.
Extreme cold and snow accumulations like what the expanded Chicagoland areas are experiencing now creates certain problems with vehicles; even the newer makes & models. Some of the most common issues in this type of weather are:
■ frozen battery cells.
■ frozen gas lines, fuel cannot flow properly.
■ frozen radiator & hoses due to possible over-dilution of antifreeze mixture.
Preparing your vehicle for winter weather conditions with a ‘Safety & Repair Inspection is always your best bet to not being stalled somewhere with any of these weather or other related problems. But sometimes vehicles can just surcome to the extreme temperatures & overall conditions.
Our Mobile Mechanics / Service know this all too well….. and they strive to assist client’s to the best of their abilities- even outside in these below zero temperatures!!
I’m grateful to be working with a team of Service Specialists with passion, dedication, determination, integrity & professionalism !
